An NFL insider reportedly projected that the Minnesota Vikings would re-sign Kirk Cousins this offseason. After Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury more than a month ago, the 7–7 Vikings are still very much in the running for the playoffs.

Due to their poor record, the Vikings will be drafted too late in 2024, which will provide them the opportunity to choose a top quarterback prospect in the first round. With Jordan Addison, who is in his second season in Minnesota, and Justin Jefferson, two outstanding offensive players, the Vikings should be able to try to contend for a Super Bowl the following season.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell recently shared his forecast regarding the Vikings’ quarterback position for the next season. According to Barnwell, it makes sense for the Vikings to extend Cousins’ deal by two years this offseason. That ought to be sufficient to contain the Vikings while their revamped defense supports an intriguing offensive lineup.

The Vikings should be eliminated with a revolving group of quarterbacks and without receiver Justin Jefferson. Instead, the Vikings have been able to stay in games because to a defense that, under Brian Flores, has improved the most from season to season of any team in the league.
