Although there has been some misunderstanding inside the Chicago Bears organisation on what transpired with Chase Claypool in Week 4, it appears that his time with the team will be coming to an end shortly.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, some NFL teams predict that Claypool will be cut by the Bears. The former Notre Dame player is in the last year of his rookie deal, with a base salary of $2.993 million in 2023.

When the Denver Broncos visited on Sunday, Claypool was a healthy inactive. The 25-year-old wide receiver was given the option to attend the game or remain home, and head coach Matt Eberflus replied to reporters afterwards, “and he’s at home right now.”

Later, a Bears representative informed Adam Jahns of The Athletic that Claypool was asked to stay at home by the team. The choice was made after Claypool informed reporters on Friday that he didn’t think the team was positioning him to be successful in the offence.

Apparently, Bears general manager Ryan Poles “has been actively calling teams he believes are in the market for a receiver” in an attempt to trade him for a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
On Thursday, Poles expressed his belief that Claypool will “learn from this situation” and wished the wideout success going ahead.
