The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed international defensive back Marcus Sayles and quarterback Chris Streveler, the team announced today.

During his two seasons as a player for the South Dakota Coyotes, Streveler (6’2, 220, University of South Dakota; born January 6, 1995 in Crystal Lake, IL) threw for 6,081 yards and 54 touchdowns. Streveler was a nominee for the Walter Payton Award in 2017 and won the MVFC Offensive Player of the Year award.

Sayles, who stands 5’10 and 180 pounds and was born in Alpharetta, Georgia on October 1, 1994, participated in 46 games for the West Georgia Wolves, amassing 123 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 24 pass breakups. Sayles spent some time on the practice roster of the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 after signing with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.

He sprinted past potential protectors. Beyond and around them as well. He tugged, shoved, and dragged tacklers. He blocked passes with utter violence and brought in passes with the deft touch of a surgeon.

Along the way, Brady Oliveira, the running back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, helped create history by winning the loop’s Most Outstanding Canadian Player award and leading the Canadian Football League in rushing and yards from scrimmage.

It’s a dream. On the evening of his announcement as the CFL’s top Canadian player, Oliveira said, “I feel like this entire season has been a dream for me,” at a party held at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls. It seems as though I must continually blink to see whether this is reality or whether I have awakened from my dream.

“I’m really blessed, and it’s been amazing.” I’m grateful for my coaches and teammates. It’s far more pleasant and delightful to be around a group of men like that when you can work with them every single day.

“I discuss my offensive line and the receivers all the time. Really, dude, this is our prise. Watching the tape will show you that there are moments when I’m running four or five yards before I’m even hit. I owe this to my offensive line, the receivers, and the coaches who prepare us each and every week to be dominating, and we have shown it each and every time.
