As an NFL quarterback, Justin Fields continues to quickly go from unsteady to fantastic each by moment. He is also only 24 years old. Therefore, the Chicago Bears’ owners will not pull a foolish move in spring and replace this player with the league’s first overall pick in the draft.

Unless, that is, they haven’t been observing.

Take it from Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, who responded to a question regarding his working relationship with Fields on Thursday at the team’s practice facility in Lake Forest, Illinois: “We work really well together.” His focus, mentality, faith, and all of that motivates me every day. We get along great, and I’m incredibly optimistic about Justin’s future.”

Fields should thrive in the Lake Michigan area for years to come for a bigger reason than just that—his $6.3 billion worth, which places him fifth among NFL teams, according to Forbes.

Despite everything, 61,752 people were crammed into Soldier Field’s 61,500 seats on Sunday. The chanting, “We want Fields!” could be heard everywhere within the historic walls.

Six straight losing seasons, including three in a row with Fields at quarterback, were guaranteed to the Bears supporters. Together with the temperature fluctuations during the game, there was also a lot of snowfall.

Nevertheless, Fields contributed the most to the Bears’ hammering of the Atlanta Falcons, winning 37–27.

That should come as no surprise.

Following a thumb injury to his right throwing hand, Fields returned to the Bears lineup in mid-November. He quickly improved as a passer, runner, and thinker, and by the end of his third professional season—which began when the Bears selected him out of Ohio State with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft—he appeared to have no ceiling.
