The 2023 NFL season has been underway for a few days, and during Week 13, a number of former Tennessee players were active and had successful games. Notable performances from the VFL contingent included Jauan Jennings, who scored his first touchdown since 2022, and Hendon Hooker, who returned to practice. Darrell Taylor, Alvin Kamara, and rookie Princeton Fant put on impressive plays for their respective teams.
In the most recent edition of our weekly feature, GoVols247 examines how each former Tennessee player performed during the 13th week of the NFL season.
With their dominance against the Philadelphia Eagles, who had only one loss, the 49ers made the NFL statement of the week. It was only right that Jauan Jennings found the end zone in such a fierce game. Early in the fourth quarter, the bruising wide receiver took an 18-yard touchdown pass, brushed off a defender, and waltzed into the end zone. Jennings was targeted four times for a total of 44 yards on three passes: an eight-yard completion on third-and-9 (San Francisco converted the fourth down) early in the fourth quarter, just before his touchdown, which also came on third down, and an eight-yard completion on third-and-5 early in the third quarter.
