Red Bull reacts to Jos Verstappen’s shocking remarks on Christian Horner

Jos Verstappen made a shocking request for Christian Horner to be fired from Red Bull, to which Red Bull responded. A few hours after witnessing his son Max easily win in Bahrain, the Dutchman unexpectedly attacked the Englishman who was under fire with foul language.

As long as he is in this position, there is friction here,” he told the Daily Mail. “There’s a chance this team might fall apart. Things cannot continue as they are. It’s going to blow up. Even though he is the one creating the issues, he is acting the victim.”

The remarks came when tidings surfaced that Verstappen Sr. and Horner had gotten into a heated altercation on Friday night at the F1 paddock. Verstappen reportedly stormed out of the meeting, but he subsequently came back and grudgingly accepted a handshake.

The group has now reacted, asserting that the outburst did not cause any disruption. There are no problems here, according to an RBR representative. We are all focused on the race, and the team is cohesive.

Horner is still under a lot of criticism even if he has been cleared of any inappropriate behavior towards a female employee after communications that the 50-year-old is said to have sent were released on Friday. In the midst of the controversy, Geri, her spouse, took a plane to the Middle East to attend the Grand Prix. In the paddock, the couple appeared to be supporting one another by holding hands.

Although it’s yet unknown what will happen to the Team Principal, F1 chiefs convened on Friday to discuss the incident. Additionally, the background din has marred what could have been an ideal weekend for the defending constructors’ champions.

Verstappen Jr. resumed his 2023 form, winning the race with a commanding lead of 22 seconds after starting from pole position. Teammate Sergio Perez came in second, ahead of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

However, the most recent development will only heighten the stress inside Red Bull. The world champion’s father usually goes with him on race weekends, and the two of them used to have a tight bond with Horner.

The latter has stated that he will perform his regular duties at the upcoming Formula One race in Saudi Arabia. Max and his Red Bull colleague Perez have not spoken out about the controversy.
