In Week 13 versus the Rams, the Cleveland Browns have a very special opportunity to accomplish something that hasn’t been done since 2015.

Cleveland has a 7-4 record for the season, and three of those victories have been achieved when a different quarterback has started. This season, Joe Flacco has started four quarterback games for the Browns; he may also be the fourth to win a contest.

Cleveland has won through Deshaun Watson, P.J. Walker, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The New York Jets have demonstrated that it is difficult to win with a backup quarterback, and the Cincinnati Bengals are headed in that direction as well.

After Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury, Cleveland signed Joe Flacco, who is expected to start against the Rams while the rookie DTR is sidelined due to a concussion. Flacco is starting for the Browns instead of Walker.

It speaks volumes about the team’s overall performance when they win a fourth game even with a new quarterback. It’s the coaching scheme put in place by Kevin Stefanski and how excellent Cleveland’s defense has become. The attacking playmakers continue to be responsible for it.

Being the first squad to do so since 2015 should undoubtedly be added to Stefanski’s Coach of the Year trophy. We’ll wait and see if it occurs now or if it is something that occurs later.
