Tennessee was visiting certain recruits lately, so they were on the recruiting trail. Tarvos Alford, a linebacker from Vero Beach High School, was one of the recruits that was visited. He is 6-2 and 215 pounds, and numerous institutions, including Tennessee, have given him great marks. After meeting with the Tennessee staff, he made time to talk with Volunteer Country.
“Overall, it was great to speak with Coach Heupel and Coach B.J. in person,” Alford said to begin the conversation. They tried to convince me that I should become a Vol and that I could benefit them just as much as they could.” Alford was questioned after his brief stay in Tennessee about if it benefited Tennessee’s cause and how much of an impact it would have on his recruitment going forward.It definitely moved their stock up.
The gifted linebacker said, “I think it’s special when the main man comes to visit you.” Enquiries were also made about his feelings towards Tennessee and their current recruiting status. The defensive star from Florida states, “At this stage of my recruitment, definitely a top school. They do, however, make me feel important because they communicate with me and make an effort to visit. I get a text from Coach Heupel practically every morning.
This staff is probably trying to convince him to visit Knoxville by getting him on campus, as he is starting to become more important. In response to the question of whether he planned to visit Tennessee, he only said, “I plan to get up there during spring.” Alford might be a crucial component of Tennessee’s eventual success and would be a tremendous complement to the already outstanding recruiting class. Alford appears to be a top target for this Tennessee recruiting team as time goes on.
A lot of aspirations are high for the Tennessee Volunteers in 2024 college football campaign. With redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava, head coach Josh Heupel and team are embarking on year two of a three-year plan; the time is now for a possible College Football Playoff run. Greg McElroy of ESPN, however, believes the Vols face a difficult task ahead of them. In addition to playing the Alabama Crimson Tide—albeit without famed head coach Nick Saban—they have road games against Georgia and Oklahoma.
“Can they defeat Georgia and Alabama? They probably can’t, but I believe they can win every other game on their schedule. As of right now, I believe that 8–4 is most likely, and 9–3 is definitely doable. However, I believe that their chances of making the 12-team playoffs are only 15% at 8-4. When they reach 9-3, I think that makes a big difference, but right now, I’m leaning more towards 8-4 and less towards that 9-3.” – Greg McElroy on Tennessee in 2024
At this moment, Milton appears to be a late-round project. Although the senior quarterback for Tennessee had ups and downs this season, he was unable to match Hendon Hooker’s enormous output from 2022. Milton has always had exceptional athletic ability; he has by far the strongest arm in the class. However, he hasn’t been able to combine the processing and precision as everyone had planned. Though there will still be some pro interest, the 6-5, 230-pound body with outstanding arm strength will draw attention.
Wright has a lot of work ahead of him as he moves on to the next level, so this is about as high of a ranking you’ll find for him. From a track-star type to a genuine pro possibility, the former three-star prospect matured in Knoxville. Wright is a dynamic player who lead the Tennessee backfield in 2023 after putting his fumbling problems behind him. In his final year as a Volunteer, the 5-10, 211-pound running back averaged 7.4 yards per carry.
