Tigers catcher Jake Rogers is back, and personality is part of his appeal -  The Athletic

Rogers spent the whole 2022 season out of the game after being added to the Tigers’ 60-day injured list on April 6, 2022. In his major league comeback, Rogers platooned as catcher with Eric Haaase in the 2023 year. With 21 home runs and a batting average of.221 over his 107 games of 2023 action.

Rogers was promoted to the major leagues and his contract was selected by the Tigers on July 30, 2019. Between AA and AAA, he was hitting.250 with 14 home runs, 52 RBI, and he was also putting out 25 of 48 base stealers (52.1%).Rogers played that evening and scored his first run in the major leagues in the seventh inning off Los Angeles Angels pitcher Taylor Cole with an RBI single. Rogers hit his first major league home run off Angels’ José Suárez in the following game on July 31. Rogers batted.125 with four home runs in 35 games for Detroit. The 2020 season saw Rogers not play for the Tigers.
