Coming to Ann Arbour from Indiana, Jack Tuttle was aware that he would not be the starter right away. Rather, the sixth-year quarterback will support veteran and five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy upon arriving at his third school of choice.

McCarthy gave a comprehensive explanation of his motivation for attending Michigan football on Thursday, but his play is just as significant as his growth. After all, he might be needed at key times. So, since his arrival on campus this winter, what has he discovered about McCarthy?

He believes the third-year dynamo doesn’t behave like one of the top college football players right away.

Yes, most people will certainly take a close look at a quarterback like J.J.; he’s a big-time man. They might believe he’s conceited or something similar,” Tuttle remarked. “I can’t say enough how humble and amazing that guy is; he’s a great football player and a great human being.” Being with him is wonderful. Being on the same team as him and the entire quarterback room excites me. I’m so excited to be there. Such nice men.

I genuinely, truly adore the guy thus far. It’s been outstanding. I’m eager to follow you wherever we go.

It comes as no surprise to Tuttle that he has witnessed McCarthy making plays on the practice field. Even without being present to witness it, he wouldn’t have been taken aback, considering the knowledge he had about McCarthy before to his arrival in Ann Arbour.

Tuttle remarked, “I always knew he could spin the ball for sure.” As a player, I have certainly seen him in person and on film, playing with other people, and all that. I was aware of that prior to entering the room, and he merely reiterated his exceptional football skills. We all gain knowledge from one another and improve as a result. Thus, it’s really thrilling. Furthermore, the quarterback room’s advancement is amazing. It’s excellent.

Is there anything McCarthy does, though, that truly amazes him? You would think Tuttle would bring up McCarthy’s remarkable ability to mimic Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as well as his arm power, arm angles, and scrambling prowess, given how much the Wolverines have over the previous year and a half talked about it.
