After Defeating Warholm Alison dos Santos Was Caught With Drugs Enhancement The former runner-up in the IRONMAN World Championship has never placed on the podium in a 100 km race, with her best result coming from the PTO Tour US Open in Milwaukee in August in seventh place.

The PTO World #9 will try to build on that performance by making an impression on home ground before starting to get ready for the September 22 IRONMAN World Championship in Nice.

Kat Matthews is hoping to add the European title to her collection this weekend after taking home the IRONMAN North American title in Texas last month for the second season in a row.

Matthews will compete against athletes from the North of Germany, including Fenella Langridge, Sara Svensk, and Daniela Bleymehl, at the IRONMAN European Championship in Hamburg on Sunday.

The British driver had originally planned to compete in the San Francisco T100 the following weekend, but she announced late last week on Instagram that she would not be completing the double header.
Matthews was listed on the start list for the San Francisco competition, which is held in conjunction with the renowned Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, earlier this month as one of the contracted athletes on the T100 Tour.

But it seems like the 33-year-old is erring on the side of caution with her training and racing load right now, given her calf damage from the Miami T100 earlier in the season.

The former British Army physiotherapist announced her departure on social media and said it was a tough but essential decision to make.

A difficult one to make. After IRONMAN Hamburg, I will not be going to San Francisco to compete in the T100 Triathlon World Tour. For my season, this is the best course of action.

With contracts to participate in the British capital are Lucy Byram, India Lee, Lucy Charles-Barclay, and Emma Pallant-Browne, among other home nation athletes looking to take the tape. Matthews will be among them.
