Jordan Ross, a five-star defensive end in 2024, has been pursued by the Tennessee Volunteers for a long time. They focused on him early on and gave him first priority.

He’s been well-connected by defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and each time Ross visits Knoxville, he has nothing but positive things to say about the city.

For a while, Tennessee was the front-runner for Ross, but there were rumors that he might be leaning toward other candidates following his recent official trips to Georgia and Florida. This weekend, he will be making his formal visit to Tennessee, and significant news broke prior to his arrival.

On his podcast, which you can watch here, 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong gave a preview of Tennessee’s recruiting weekend. Prior to the visit, he revealed that he thinks Tennessee is leading Ross. “A few weekends ago, during his visit to Georgia, we discussed our belief that the Bulldogs had made a significant advancement.

While I agree that Georgia was thrilling at the time of the visit, I also believe that since things have calmed down and after speaking with him following the Georgia visit, Tennessee has emerged as the clear favorite. I am aware that Florida is still very much in the running; over the weekend, he visited Texas, but Tennessee has been his top choice the entire time.”
