Mason Curtis, a four-star edge/linebacker commit to Michigan, has an abridged highlight reel from his four years of high school embedded above.

With five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis joining the staff in 2024, along with four-star commitments from Jordan Marshall of Cincinnati, in-state defensive back Jacob Oden, tight end Hogan Hansen, defensive lineman Ted Hammond, offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, and linebacker/edge Mason Curtis, among others, the staff is off to a great start.

The staff has made Ohio, home of rival Ohio State, a major area of concentration. Michigan thinks they can begin to reestablish themselves as a perennial recruiting powerhouse after defeating the Buckeyes twice in a row. They presently have three state commits in November, and they are also targeting a few players in the 2024 recruiting class.

Ohio is “a major priority,” according to defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale. “To tell the truth, our top focus is anywhere we have contacts and where there are skilled football players. Ohio is always right down the street; I’m from there, so I’m aware of how good the football is there. We therefore want to make sure that we keep using that.

“The many Ohioan players we have on our squad have had a significant impact on us. Thus, we will keep doing it. Reestablish those connections, invite those players up here, and demonstrate our values to them. And lately, things have been going really nicely here. Thus, we aim to maintain that pattern, conclude the ’23 class, and continue with the ’24 class and anybody else.”
