Furthermore, according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Gazette, the $8 million agreement will be for a one-year period. a considerable drop from Perez’s $19.6 million contract with the Rangers following his acceptance of a qualifying offer. Perez, a 12-year veteran, has played in Arlington for the previous two seasons with the Texas Rangers. Pitching to a 3.54 ERA over 338 innings worked, Perez appeared in 67 games, including 52 starts, during those two seasons, and produced some of his best work as a pitcher.
