Two Former Bulldogs Receive ESPN’s First Team “All-Playoff” Honours……….

This year, the College Football Playoff will kick off its tenth season, culminating a decade-long tenure as the primary college football championship system. A few exceptionally gifted college football players and even legends appeared in a number of postseason games at that time. ESPN decided to create a “All-Playoff” featuring the top players at each position from this era, as there were more than 25 games available. The two Georgia Bulldogs who made the list are shown here.

(Image credit: Mackenzie Miles) Bowers was an easy choice to make on this list, according to ESPN, because no other player in this era has even come close to being as dominant as the native of Napa, California. While playing with the Bulldogs, Bowers made an appearance in four playoff games in all, and in three of those games, he grabbed a touchdown pass. Additionally, he won the highly sought-after Mackey Award twice in a row.

(Image credit: Tony Walsh) Dean, who was awarded the Butkus Award in 2021, demonstrated his exceptional playmaking skills and leadership during both playoff game appearances. He recorded over 10 tackles and ultimately assisted the Bulldogs in ending their 41-year title drought.
