good news:Across the Empire: Yankees updates – January 20, 24……..

The Yankees moved two players on Friday’s roster; Cashman discusses the roster and other topics; Boone teases the batting order of the Yanks; Among the hardest hitters in the current prospect rankings are Jones and Domínguez.

ESPN: In case you missed it, the Yankees added utility man Diego Castillo to their roster on Friday by selecting him off of the Mets’ waiver list. Prior to being traded to Pittsburgh for Clay Holmes, Castillo was a Yankee prospect and has since played in the major leagues for the Pirates and Diamondbacks. On the flip side, that move spelt the end of Jeter Downs’ brief Yankee career, as the team opted to waive him to create room on the 40-man roster. While the second Jeter didn’t even make it through the entire offseason, the first Jeter in Yankee history spent a significant amount of time there.

MLB Trade Rumours | Darragh McDonald: The Yankees’ Friday release of Downs wasn’t even the only possible offseason addition. As a step towards.

Bryan Fonseca of the New York Post: The foundation of the Yankees hitting order has been Aaron Judge for nearly the whole of his Major League Baseball career. But now that Juan Soto has joined the team, the Yankees have access to a couple more exciting choices. Manager Aaron Boone made a hint about his thoughts on the batting order during a podcast appearance. It appears that, at least for the time being, he’s leaning towards placing Soto and Judge in positions two and three, respectively.

USA Baseball | Geoff Pontes: Some Yankee farmhands are near the top of this list, which is updated throughout prospect ranking season. Yankee outfielders Spencer Jones and Everson Pereira are right at the top of the lane at 93.8 mph.
