American pitcher Christopher Allen Sale, born March 30, 1989, plays Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves. He was formerly a player with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball. He weighs 183 pounds (83 kg), is 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) tall, and bats and throws left-handed.
Born and raised in Lakeland, Florida, which is near Tampa Bay, Sale attended Florida Gulf Coast University to play collegiate baseball. In the 2010 MLB draft, the Chicago White Sox selected him with the 13th overall pick, and on August 6, 2010, he made his MLB debut. Prior to the 2017 campaign, he was traded to the Boston Red Sox, where he played a crucial role in their winning pitching rotation.

Sale led the American League (AL) in strikeouts in 2015 and 2017, and he was an MLB All-Star for seven straight seasons from 2012 to 2018.
