Among all professional sports, the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals rivalry is one of the fiercest. It’s rare for supporters of the two teams to compliment one another. When devoted Cubs supporter Lloyd Sy appeared on Jeopardy! on Wednesday, it was evident that this was the case. Sy was asked a question under the “Bald is Beautiful” category, and the legendary Albert Pujols of the Cardinals was the response. Sy took sure to use an adjective in his response to express his genuine feelings towards the former Cardinals standout.

Because he was aware that Pujols was the player in the picture, Jeopardy contestant Lloyd Sy was able to ask the right question. Sy, though, wasn’t satisfied with simply asking, “Who is Albert Pujols?” Rather, he put the adjective “wretched” before Pujols’ name.
Jennings acknowledged the response and arched his eyebrow at the remark. That’s when Sy said he was a devoted Cubs fan.
The Cubs and Cardinals are bitter rivals, and it seems that this animosity doesn’t change when the Cubs supporter is playing on Jeopardy.
After the 2022 season, Pujols wrapped off a 22-year Major League career while playing for the Cardinals. In addition to playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels, he played for the Cardinals for 12 seasons of his career.

Stanek, 32, spent seven seasons as an MLB player. Stanek was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft. He played for the Rays for 2.5 seasons after making his debut in 2017.
The Yankees’ transaction page indicates that catcher Luis Torrens has agreed to a minor league contract.
In 2023, Torrens divided his time between two teams. He participated in five games with the Seattle Mariners and thirteen games with the Chicago Cubs. The 27-year-old backstop scored four runs and went 7 for 28 over that span.
In 2013, Torrens was signed by the Yankees as a free agent from Venezuela. Up until 2016, when the San Diego Padres selected him in the Rule 5 Draft, he was a player in the Yankees farm system.
According to YES Network’s Jack Curry, the Yankees have allegedly discussed the possibility of getting back together with RHP Keynan Middleton as they concentrate on bolstering their bullpen.
Middleton was a very effective pitcher for the Yanks in the latter half of the season after being acquired from the Chicago White Sox ahead of the trade deadline.

Jim Duquette, one of the Front Office hosts, reported that Cashman stated he is continuing in talks with other clubs about trades and is still looking to potentially bolster his pitching staff. When Cashman met with the media after Marcus Stroman’s introduction earlier this week, he made this statement.
Cashman stated at the time, “If everything goes right, I think we have a good rotation, which is something we don’t want to lay back and count on.” “We’ll keep searching and making adjustments as needed.”
On MLB Network Radio, Cashman stated that he was trying to bring in someone from outside the organisation to improve the Yankees bullpen, but he didn’t go into too much detail. If not, though, he is content with the way it is now set up.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Yankees have signed utility player Jose Rojas to a minor league contract that includes an invitation to major league spring training.
In 2022, Rojas made his final major league appearance with the Los Angeles Angels. With the Halos, Rojas slashed.125/.140/.161 in 22 games. Rojas, though, is a versatile player. Rojas has played first, second, and third base in addition to the corner outfield positions during his brief career.
