WWE Raw recap: Seth Rollins retains title vs. Jey Uso

On Monday night’s Raw program, Seth Rollins defeated Jey Uso in an incredible main event, but Drew McIntyre left the evening as the most powerful man on Raw.

In order to hold onto the world heavyweight championship, Rollins had to outlast Uso in a match, but McIntyre struck first and eliminated both of them. However, McIntyre didn’t stop with Rollins and Uso; after defeating Sami Zayn in the match that opened the program, he proceeded to attack Zayn backstage.

Uso loses against Rollins to keep his title, but McIntyre strikes to bring the program to a close.

Drew McIntyre uses a Claymore to pinfall Sami Zayn in victory. In the opening promo for the event, McIntyre attacked Zayn and Uso for their involvement in The Bloodline and claimed that they both deserved to lose to Roman Reigns in the ring. When Zayn entered the ring, he corrected McIntyre when he claimed they were similar, and he also questioned McIntyre about if he was making his family proud. Zayn hurt his leg, which McIntyre took advantage of to win the bout. McIntyre assaulted Zayn backstage later in the performance, capping the altercation with a stomp on Zayn’s wounded leg.

Seth Rollins (c) wins the World Heavyweight Championship by pinfall with a stomp. Earlier in the evening, Uso released a promo in which he stated that he never imagined he would be able to challenge for the world title again after losing to Reigns since his twin brother had turned against him. In addition, he assured Adam Pearce that after he finished with Rollins, he would tend to McIntyre. Rollins was informed by Pearce that CM Punk would have an exclusive Raw contract the following week. Following an excellent main event, McIntyre charged ringside, knocking out Rollins and Uso before sending Uso flying through the commentary table.

After Chance pinned Natalya following a corkscrew splash, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter defeated Tegan Nox and Natalya via pinfall.

Cody Rhodes talked about Shinsuke Nakamura misting him last Monday. While it seems sense that Rhodes was afraid of The Great Muta’s misting spray as a boy, he said he doesn’t back down from a battle. Nakamura made an appearance on Tron, snippeting a promo on how their experiences of being close to the summit of the mountain only to be knocked back down are comparable. However, Nakamura now stated that it is his responsibility to put an end to Rhodes’ narrative. The bout between Rhodes and Nakamura was scheduled for next Monday.

Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) is defeated by The Creed Brothers via pinfall after a Brutus Ball is used on McDonagh. Damian Priest had stated earlier in the match that he was in control and that McDonagh and Mysterio would take care of business and demonstrate that the Creeds aren’t prepared for their championship opportunity because he didn’t think Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor were present.
