Derrick Brooks Caught On Camera Sniffing Cocaine After Florida State and Clemson filed lawsuits against the ACC and its exit fees this offseason, college football conference realignment is once again being discussed. The lawsuits were reportedly filed with the intention of finding a way out of the league and into a more lucrative scenario moving forward.
The SEC seems to be a reasonable destination amid rumors that two well-known businesses may be moving. Would Florida be willing to support that? At SEC spring meetings, Scott Stricklin, athletic director for the Gators, provided an answer to that query.
According to his Instagram page, former Florida State player Baba Miller has committed to Florida Atlantic and withdrew from the NBA Draft. After going through the pre-draft process, the rising junior from Mallorca, Spain decided it would be best to play at least one more season in college. This past season, he averaged 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks and steals per game.
Miller, who is 6’10.75″ with a wingspan of 7’2″, or nearly seven feet in shoes, was invited to the NBA G-League Camp but not the NBA Combine. He shot 6/10 on free throws, 18/30 off the dribble, 12/25 in the 3-point star drill, and 14/25 on spot-ups during the camp. Despite not starting in either of the scrimmages, he scored eight points in his debut game.
Miller was one of the players that left Florida State during their massive offseason roster revamp. There were instances of him playing outside of the system because there looked to be a difference between how the coaching staff wanted to use him and how he wanted to be used.
Miller has come to an odd place at FAU since Dusty May, the team’s previous coach who guided them to the Final Four two years ago, left to take a position at Michigan this offseason. John Jakus, a former coach of a club in Macedonia, is their new coach. He came back to the US to work as a graduate assistant at Baylor. He returned to Baylor in 2017 to serve as an assistant coach, where he has been ever since departing Waco to take a position as Gonzaga’s director of basketball operations. As the head coach of a collegiate basketball team, this is his first chance.
