As he attempts to get closer to Red Bull in the upcoming season, Ferrari manager Fred Vasseur has stated that he would keep in mind the quantity of chances lost for his team.
Vasseur had a difficult first season at the Scuderia; he finished just one race ahead of the leaders in the constructors’ championship.
This is true even if Ferrari frequently looks to be the closest rival to Red Bull’s hegemony, with Charles Leclerc managing five pole positions.
Leclerc has stated that he is totally in favor of Vasseur’s “project,” but strategic mistakes have not been totally eliminated, which has resulted in some expensive blunders in the points.
Vasseur has since stated that the group will grow from these mistakes as they proceed into 2024.”I have the standings in my head minus the problems and generally I think you have ups and downs throughout the season,” he said to Formule1.
“Compared to our rivals, we undoubtedly gave up more points. We will need to address this in the upcoming year. We must become more resourceful and opportunistic.
“I will most certainly keep this in mind.
It’s not at all about coming up with an excuse. We erred in this case. There is a need to make improvements. There are clearly a ton of missed opportunities.”
