American Track And Field Athlete Tyson Gay Evicted From The Race Due To Asinga, a Suniram athlete, is receiving support from four-time world champion Justin Gatlin after the Athletics Integrity Unit banned him for doping.
On August 9 of last year, the AIU temporarily barred Asinga after a positive test on his urine sample revealed the presence of a drug on the WADA prohibited list.
Since then, he has received a four-year doping suspension; nonetheless, he intends to appeal the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Asinga emphasized in a statement that he has always been dedicated to maintaining the integrity of my sport.
“Sadly, in 2023 while I was still a high school senior, Pepsico gave me a Gatorade gift package which contained Gatorade Recovery Gummies, displaying the industry-approved NSF Certified for Sport logo,” Asinga said in a statement made public.
“The product I was given was tainted with GW1516, the same chemical for which I tested positive in trace amounts. The containers were later analyzed at a WADA-accredited laboratory.”
During an interview on his podcast, Ready Se Go, Gatlin encouraged the young person to maintain his composure and demanded that the company that supplied Asinga with the Gummies come forward and correct the record.
He pointed out that the decision to prohibit the young person would destroy his career and make him have to wait longer to reach his goals. The American icon went on to say that people’s perceptions of him will change when he returns to the sport after being banned.
Gatlin also mentioned that he was only getting started and that his career was just beginning to take shape. He noted that it would undoubtedly be difficult to win back sponsors’ trust after more than four years away.
