ALPENA: A few long-suffering Detroit Lions supporters gathered on Friday afternoon to celebrate the team’s recent success and show their support at Culligan Plaza in downtown Alpena.
The Lions need to upset the No. 1 seeded San Francisco 49ers in the NFC to advance to the championship game, which will take place in Las Vegas on February 11. The victory would send the team to its first-ever Super Bowl.
Detroit defeated the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field in Detroit to get to the big game this season and win the NFC North with a 12-5 record.
Lions supporters have endured misery for a long time, including a 2008 season without a victory.
