TRADE NEWS: Daniel Hill Chooses To Tennessee Over Alabama due to….

Daniel Hill, a running back from Meridian High School, selected the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday night over Tennessee, South Carolina, and Mississippi State. He had been leaning towards Alabama for a few weeks after they had made him a high priority towards the end of the recruiting cycle. He made the news during the Army All-American Bowl.

Football in Tennessee is almost done with the offseason. After finishing the regular season, the Vols are concentrating on building their roster for the 2023 campaign. With all of the most recent NFL Draft announcements and portal entries, Volunteer Country has the fans covered. The portal window is open from January 2 to December 4. Players will have to wait until May after spring practice to access the transfer portal if they do not transfer within that time.

On3 made a prediction on Monday that the former Vol would flip to the Louisville Cardinals. The possible flip was revealed on X, which was originally Twitter. You can see the announcement here. Currently ranked No. 25 in the NCAA Transfer Portal, the Memphis, Tenn., native has totalled 95 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in the last two seasons, according to On3’s rankings.

The former three-star recruit amassed 115 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, one sack, four interceptions, 12 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in his four seasons with the Volunteers. Playing at the STAR position—a hybrid safety who could also line up at outside linebacker—McDonald proved to be Tennessee’s defensive defense’s Swiss army knife.

Since Ladarius Tennison said last Friday that he would be joining the portal, the Rebels may need to acquire another experienced hybrid defender if McDonald decides to leave Ole Miss. Tennison has also played linebacker and safety, but under defensive coordinator Pete Golding, he began to receive more playing time at the latter position.

Walker played his first three years of college ball for Georgia Tech, an ACC team, and for his final two seasons in Atlanta, he was a consistent member of their secondary. He recorded 95 tackles (56 solo), 2.0 for loss, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 22 games with 13 starts as a Yellow Jacket.
