The Bears’ all-time leading scorer retires after an outstanding 18 season

After spending 18 seasons in the NFL, Robbie Gould, who was a player for Chicago from 2005 to 2015, announced his retirement in the Players’ Tribune on Thursday morning. Gould, who ranks tenth all-time in NFL scoring, was also a member of the 2016 New York Giants and the 2017–2022 San Francisco 49ers.

The 41-year-old scored 1,961 points in his career and is sixth all-time in field goals made (447). A portion of his legacy will come from his postseason exploits, during which he never missed an extra point or field goal.
Gould scored 1,207 points, made 276 field goals, and 26 field goals of at least 50 yards during his 11 seasons with the Bears. When he broke Kevin Butler’s previous Bears record of 24 field goals in a row in 2006, he was named to the First team All-Pro. Gould also led the Bears to the NFC Championship that season with a 49-yard field goal against the Seattle Seahawks in overtime. Chicago advanced to the Super Bowl, but the Colts of Indianapolis defeated them there.

Gould wrote in his retirement narrative that he relished every aspect of his stay in Chicago.
Gould stated in the Players’ Tribune, “We made a tonne of memories and had some deep playoff runs.” “Playing for the McCaskey family was an honour and provided me the chance to fulfil a childhood desire. In the end, I hope we brought pride to Bears supporters. They are deserving of it.
