Running back Dylan Sampson, one of the best players on the Tennessee Vols roster, is a native of Louisiana.

Furthermore, it seems that the Vols want to steal another outstanding recruit by reaching into the Boot.Tennessee is one of three teams, along with Miami and LSU, that are “leading the way” for 2025 four-star running back D’Shaun Ford, according to On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

Ole Miss is attempting to enter the fray as well.

Ford, an Opelousas, Louisiana native who is 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds, is ranked as the No. 30 running back in the country and the No. 12 player in Louisiana according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Ford is a formidable competitor who doesn’t give up easily. And just this past week, he assisted Opelousas in winning a state championship.

Following Jaylen Wright’s (2023) and Sampson’s (2023) 1,013 rushing yards while splitting carries with Small and Sampson, Tennessee ought to be a very sought-after destination for running backs.

In 2023, Tennessee was ranked No. 12 in the country, while the Vols finished second in the SEC with 202.5 rushing yards per game.

Ford is still a player to keep an eye on during the 2025 recruiting cycle, though it’s early in his recruitment.
