Shortly after Michigan’s victory in the national championship on Monday night, arguably the most well-known athlete on the NCAA transfer site made a commitment to the arch-rival Wolverines.
The Montgomery native and former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins declared his intention to attend Ohio State. Judkins, a 5-foot-11, 220-pound player, still has two seasons left to be eligible.
Judkins is a two-time first-team All-SEC selection who guided Pike Road High School to a state championship in 2021. During his two seasons at Ole Miss, he ran for 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns, with 1,158 yards and 15 scores in 2023.
In 2023, Ohio State finished 11-2 and lost in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri. TreVeyon Henderson, a junior running back who finished the previous season with 926 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Buckeyes, is anticipated to declare for the 2024 NFL draft, though he has not yet made his intentions known to the public.
Monday night in the College Football Playoff, No. 2 Washington was defeated 34-13 by Blake Corum, who ran for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Harbaugh and the top-ranked Wolverines, unfazed by suspensions and a case of sign-stealing that followed the programme, finished a three-year run to a national championship.
“We are not guilty. Jumping in to address a question directed to his players, Harbaugh replied, “We stood strong and tall because we knew we were innocent.” “The season unfolded precisely how we had hoped. Everything went precisely as we had hoped.
And he did it with a team that Bo Schembechler, his former coach, would have been proud of. In their 14-1 victory over Washington, the Wolverines amassed 303 yards of ground gain, while their defence, which twice intercepted the Heisman Trophy runner-up, limited Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies’ explosive passing game to just one touchdown.
“This team consists of over 100 men from Michigan,” Harbaugh remarked. The work they’ve done is incredible. They’ll always be regarded as national champions.
Penix finished his incredible six-year collegiate career with what may have been his poorest game of the year. Penix was not nearly as accurate against a Michigan defence that negated his hallmark deep throws. Penix is usually undaunted by pressure.
