Three players from Tennessee were selected for the All-SEC squad, which was announced today. James Pearce Jr., a sophomore edge rusher, led the group with 24 tackles and 8.5 sacks, earning first-team recognition. These three were considered to be among the best in the SEC.

This season, Jaylen Wright, a running back, was among the most productive runners in school history. With an average of 7.4 yards per carry, he became their first rusher to gain more over 1,000 yards since 2015. He was the most reliable and dynamic contributor for the offense, kicking off games with lengthy touchdown runs against Georgia and Kentucky.

After he didn’t take part in Senior Day activities against Vanderbilt, Tennessee’s offensive line took a major turn for the better, and he may be able to use his one-year remaining eligibility and rejoin the 2024 squad. Nico Iamaleava, who is expected to start at quarterback in 2023, would benefit greatly from having the leader of the offensive line back.
