Tyler Baron, a defensive end for Tennessee, has decided to use the transfer portal this afternoon. With one more year of eligibility left, the senior pass rusher is coming off of his best season.

In the 2023 campaign, Baron recorded 28 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, and six sacks. It seems that he has decided to play his final football season for a different program. He was reportedly debating whether to join the NFL or use the transfer portal. The NIL opportunities are probably the reason behind this seemingly strange choice.

After the 2021 season, the former four-star prospect also registered on the transfer portal, but a few days later, he swiftly removed his name.

Despite the fact that most predicted Baron would join the league, most seemed to think he was gone after this season. Baron’s eligibility for one more COVID season remains. Prior to his last game against Vanderbilt, Baron participated in Senior Day activities. For the upcoming year, he will now begin the process of looking for a new residence.

Baron enters the portal alongside Warren Burrell, Addison Nichols, Jack Luttrell, Brandon Turnage, and Mo Clipper.
