Few players have left the Michigan Wolverines for the transfer portal. A portion of this could be because they are getting ready for their semifinal matchup with Alabama, and some players who could be considering transferring might decide to stay on for the time being in order to acquire experience.

Additionally, it refers to the culture that Jim Harbaugh established. They had their first player declare their determination to enter the portal in spite of all of this. The gifted running back CJ Stokes made his transfer portal announcement on social media.

Fans may recall South Carolina running back Stokes from the previous season. He is currently in his second year of play. After entering the game against Illinois with injuries sidelining Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards, Stokes ran for 273 yards and a touchdown.

He didn’t truly see the field once again. Although Stokes participated in the first two games, he did not return to the field until 2023 when Corum and Edwards returned. He fell down the depth chart, although injuries also had a part in it.

The loss of a player always hurts, but the Wolverines are extremely talented at running back. Jordan Marshall and Micah Ka’apana join the team in 2024, joining Ben Hall and Cole Cabana who are already members of the team. Michigan could probably land a running back out of the transfer portal if they were that desperate. Though many believe Edwards will declare for the draft, there’s also a chance he returns the following year.
