The Washington Commanders have released some news that suggests there may be another quarterback worth keeping an eye on. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to a quarterback who is reportedly available this offseason.
Sam Howell is available for trade this offseason, and other teams may be interested in acquiring his skills, according to Ralph Vacciano of FOX Sports. Last season, the then-second-year quarterback completed 63.4% of his throws for 3,946 yards and 21 touchdowns, but he also threw a league-high 21 interceptions.
“Multiple NFL sources believe several teams would be interested in trading for the 23-year-old,” says Vacchiano. “They could potentially get a third-round pick for him — maybe more — if they decide they’re willing to deal him sometime around the draft.”
The fifth-round selection Kenny Pickett is from may not be the quarterback the Steelers are willing to give up early draft picks for. For about the same price, reports indicate they may be able to take a chance on Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
