In Week 14, the San Francisco 49ers easily defeated the Seattle Seahawks to secure the top seed in the NFC playoff picture. Their defense continues to improve with every game. Although Nick Bosa is the team’s most well-known player, San Francisco’s depth on defense is starting to prove to be more and more important to their ability to terrorize opposing offenses.
The Niners had a strong defensive line going into the season, but they were able to improve even further by adding Chase Young and Randy Gregory through two trades. Although they are still getting used to each other in San Francisco’s defense, Bosa acknowledged that the team’s arsenal of weapons allows them to try out some unusual looks that they might not have been able to otherwise.
“I enjoy that. Being without a camp is difficult for me because I’ve lived a very precarious life over the years. I’m not very confident about it because it’s much quicker and different on the inside, but now that we have guys like Chase and Randy, I think it can be a really good changeup if I can keep getting reps and get a better feel for it. They are deserving of opportunities. It benefits us. – The Athletic’s Nick Bosa
