Throughout Michigan football’s 27-20 overtime triumph over Alabama in the Rose Bowl, Kalel Mullings made multiple contributions. To set up the Wolverines’ first score of the day, the running back carried the ball, made only his second reception of his college career, and created holes for his teammates.
When it counted most, U-M controlled the trenches to defeat a team that was known for its toughness and quickness in the conference semifinal, appearing to be the more physical squad.
SEC, everyone says, they’re tough. They are that and they are this, Mullings remarked. It’s my responsibility as a lead blocker to demonstrate to everyone that they’re not. And I believe I was able to accomplish some of it.

Yes, says Kalel Mullings. A small amount of each and every thing. I feel fantastic. It feels fantastic to come in after all that occurred the previous year and be able to win this game. But we have one more game left to play.
To be honest, not at all. My approach to playing is to simply go out there and give it everything you’ve got, 100% of the time, in every game. Since you cannot alter the past, I make an effort to avoid thinking about it too much. It had nothing to do with makeup or seeking retribution. All I had to do was go out on the field, do my job, and support the team in winning.
No, no. As I entered the apartment, I realised J.J. was in trouble. As a scramble drill, I simply showed up. appeared and showed openness. Everybody knows J.J.: If you’re out there, he’ll find you. I simply waited for it, anticipated its arrival, and caught the ball.
