In the Minnesota Vikings’ history, 34 hasn’t been a particularly good or terrible number. However, it hasn’t been very awful either. We have two rushing backs and a safety that should be taken into account in this one. As usual, we’ll begin with running back Rickey Young and go back in time. Young joined the Vikings in 1976 as part of the transaction that sent offensive tackle Ed White to the Chargers, having started his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers. With 88 receptions in his rookie campaign in Minnesota, he broke Chuck Wessels’ record for most in the National Football League.
