Bears coach Matt Nagy to miss 49ers game because of COVID-19 | AP News

Just a few days ago, the Chicago Bears dismissed offensive coordinator Luke Getsy along with five other coaches; yet, they appear to have thrown wide open the search for a new head coach thus far.

In the four days that Getsy was fired, the Bears are said to have interviewed at least four candidates for the job.

The 44-year-old Waldron is the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator at the moment. But since Pete Carroll is no longer the head coach in Seattle, Waldron would probably be fired by his successor.

Since 2021, Waldron has served as Seattle’s OC. He was the Los Angeles Rams’ coordinator of the passing game before to that. 2017–20 was his time with the Rams. In addition, he won two Super Bowls as an operations assistant for the New England Patriots.

Seattle’s scoring offence has placed 16th, 10th, and 17th under Waldron. In terms of throwing yards per game, they have come in at 24, 12, and 14. When quarterback Geno Smith won the Comeback Player of the Year Award in 2022, Waldron was highly praised for his work with the quarterback.

Kubiak, 36, is the 49ers’ current coordinator of the passing game. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He also served as the Denver Broncos’ quarterbacks coach and coordinator of the passing game for the 2022 campaign. He is the son of Gary Kubiak, a former NFL coach.

This season, Kubiak replaced Bobby Slowik as the 49ers’ passing game coordinator after the latter left to take a position as offensive coordinator with the Houston Texans. In the league, Kubiak is well regarded. Like his father, Gary Kubiak, he is regarded as a brilliant offensive thinker and has some play-calling experience after assuming the role late in the Denver Broncos season.

There are numerous prosperous NFL branches of the Shanahan/Kubiak tree. League observers saw Kubiak as a key component of Brock Purdy’s outstanding campaign.

Olson, sixty, is the Seahawks’ current quarterbacks coach. In reality, in 2003, he had been the Bears’ quarterbacks coach. He has a tonne of experience coaching in the NFL and has been doing so since 2001.

He has prior experience as an offensive coordinator. He was the offensive coordinator for the following teams: Oakland Raiders (2013–14), Jacksonville Jaguars (2015–16), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2009–11), Detroit Lions (2004–05), St. Louis Rams (2006–07), and Las Vegas Raiders (second stint; 2018–21).

Since 2010, Coen, 38, has worked primarily in the collegiate football industry. He has worked at five universities, including Kentucky, where he has held a variety of roles other from offensive coordinator.

In 2022, he was the Rams’ offensive coordinator. With 18.1 points per game that season, the Rams had the NFL’s 27th-ranked offence. Since Coen’s departure, the Rams’ offence is eighth in the league this season (2023).

To his defence, he has significantly elevated Kentucky’s offence from their 111th-ranked unit the previous season to the No. 50 unit in the nation.

According to rumours, the Bears will interview Coen as their third offensive coordinator candidate. The Bears will also speak with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron of the Seattle Seahawks and passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak of the San Francisco 49ers.
