Dave Meltzer gave an update on Zayn following an injury angle from this Monday’s Raw in the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Although Zayn has recently requested and been granted time off, Meltzer pointed out that he does not have confirmation that Zayn will be taking a break in order to pursue the angle. Meltzer was not informed of the start of Zayn’s leave.
On Raw, Drew McIntyre emerged victorious over Zayn by capitalizing on an alleged leg injury sustained by the latter. McIntyre attacked Zayn backstage following the match.
On Monday’s Raw, McIntyre also dissed Jey Uso and Seth Rollins. Following Rollins’ victory over Uso in the main event to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, McIntyre launched an attack on Uso.
