Despite his struggles, Aaron Wise is scheduled to make his PGA Tour comeback nearly nine months after he was last seen.
Wise is in the field for the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, which hosts the 2024 Puerto Rico Open on Thursday.
The 27-year-old last played in the 2023 US Open in June, but he took a sabbatical to attend to his mental health concerns after failing to make the cut in Los Angeles.
After withdrawing from the 2023 Masters at Augusta, the 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson winner stated at the time, “I need to take some time away to focus on my mental health so I can get back to competing at a level,” indicating that he was having problems.
Prior to quitting the PGA Tour entirely, Wise attempted to make a comeback at the Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship, and the US Open.
It will take place at Bay Hill alongside the Arnold Palmer Invitational, giving Wise a low-key comeback to action—exactly what he would probably desire as he eases back into life on the PGA Tour.
