Reds sign promising newcomers Naibel Mariano and Adolfo Sanchez……..
The Cincinnati Reds are off to a great start with their first two international acquisitions of the 2024 season today. Shortstop Naibel Mariano and outfielder Adolfo Sanchez have signed with them.
Adolfo Sanchez is ranked #6 on Baseball America’s list of the anticipated Top 100 signing bonuses for this signing period, while Naibel Mariano is ranked #11. It is important to remember that those aren’t always the prospects’ rankings inside the class. Having said that, it’s definitely near enough, so we can confidently say that by signing these two players, the Reds are acquiring two of the stronger prospects.
Adolfo Sanchez and Cincinnati have been connected for many years, and as of today, he has formalised the relationship by signing a contract. At 6′ 2″ and 175 pounds, he is now labelled as such. He is seventeen years old and from the Dominican Republic. He was born on September 19, 2006.
His hit tool is what makes him stand out above the others when it comes to baseball. He has a good profile with the bat thanks to an above-average hit tool and eventual average power potential. He can now play centre on the field, but depending on who you ask, his speed is only ordinary to slightly over average. He runs strong routes and gets good reads, but if he slightly loses speed.
At 6 feet 3 inches and 170 pounds, the shortstop is listed. He turned 17 on September 6, 2006, when he was born. From the Dominican Republic is Mariano.
At the moment, Mariano has greater power than Hit. His best-rated tool is his above-average power potential. The future hit tool might be mediocre.
He can currently play shortstop in the field because of his strong arm and movements. Though it’s possible that he will fill out and outgrow the position, he appears to have the skills necessary to go easily to third base.
According to MLB Pipeline, Mariano agreed to a $1,650,000 contract.
