Reasons why cuba judo could not get a medal in Tyoko Grand slam

With seven gold, two silver, and four bronze medals, Japan’s men’s and women’s teams won the medal standings in this competition. South Korea and Brazil came in second and third, respectively.

Cuban competitors Andy Granda (+100 kg), Orlando Polanco (66 kg), Maylín del Toro (63 kg), and Lianet Cardona (78 kg) succumbed to Ippon in their bouts on Sunday, the second and final day of the competition; Iván Silva (90 kg) also lost.

With 506 judokas from 84 countries—288 men and 208 women—the Tokyo Grand Slam 2023 determines the slots for the 2024 Olympic Games by awarding points for the world ranking.
