On Wednesday, the Browns’ hunt for a new offensive line coach became a little more difficult.
One of the main candidates reportedly under consideration for the position was Browns assistant offensive line coach Scott Peters, following Bill Callahan’s exit from that position in Cleveland to join his son’s staff as the offensive line coach in Tennessee.
Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that the Browns have decided not to pursue Peters any further. It is now anticipated that the former fourth-round selection turned coach will join Alex Van Pelt, the Browns’ recently sacked offensive coordinator, in taking up the position of offensive line coach in New England.
A league source has confirmed that the Browns have hired Andy Dickerson, the former offensive line coach of the Seattle Seahawks, as their new offensive line coach. The story was first broken by Albert Breer of MMQB.
After being hired earlier this month by the Tennessee Titans to replace Mike Vrabel as head coach, Callahan will be joining his son Brian’s staff there.
Dickerson was hired shortly after a source stated that Scott Peters would be joining the New England Patriots as offensive line coach. Peters was the Browns’ assistant offensive line coach for the preceding four seasons.
