Pinstripe Alley today, 1/29/24………

Monday features more quarterbacks in the morning than just those, though they exist as well.

In the penultimate week of the football season, the sports world dominated the headlines, and the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will square off in the Super Bowl once more. Though it was an exciting series of conference titles to get us here, the response to this five-year anniversary rematch has naturally become much more negative as Patrick Mahomes has transformed the Chiefs into the Brady Patriots of the modern era and the 49ers have been right on the verge of the big game ever since. To the dismay of poor Lions fans, if you were paying attention, you saw history being made.

Returning to the baseball world, it’s a slow day following a quiet weekend. Bill Dickey is vying for the ninth slot in Matt’s upcoming edition of the Top 100, but I’d like to extend a particular thank you to Malachi for his final piece on the history of trades between the Yankees and White Sox. I want to offer Malachi our best wishes as he explores the next phase of his career. It has been a pleasure to have him on the team and to work with his writing. Keep being a stranger; we’ll miss you around here, Malachi!

Will the second Chiefs-49ers game be an exciting Super Bowl? In two weeks, would you watch it, or did you rather that it feature the Ravens or Lions?

With the exception of MLB, no other major sports league has had a repeat champion in a long time. This includes the NFL. What do you think about MLB standing alone in this aspect if the Chiefs succeed?
