In the midst of wild rumours that Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh will leave for a position in the NFL, the three-time College Football Playoff participant hinted at a return in 2024.

Harbaugh spoke to his team at the 2023 season award ceremony in Ann Arbour on Sunday. He addressed his senior class directly, implying that he might return for the 2024 season.

Although Harbaugh’s statement does not legally verify anything, it hints that he has an ownership stake in Michigan’s 2024 roster.

Similar claims surfaced towards the end of the 2022 season, and they have risen even higher now that sign-stealing allegations are on the horizon. Following the firing of former head coach Brandon Staley, Harbaugh was linked to the Los Angeles Chargers head coaching vacancy. NFL expert Chris Fallica predicted the move in a recent interview, which was detailed in an EssentiallySports post.
