After Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner left the team in the summer, the Reds were strongly connected to the Frenchman.

But despite Liverpool’s decision to recruit Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch to strengthen their midfield, the trade never happened.

The Reds continue to monitor possible targets for upcoming transfer windows even though they have a variety of options for central midfield.

Thuram seems to be a good fit for the Merseyside club, which is reportedly eager to add young, talented players to its roster.

The 22-year-old is reportedly admired by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is trying to assemble a team that can contend for big titles.

Thuram is currently in the last two years of his contract, and it is thought that a sum of money around €45 million (£38.3 million) would be sufficient to entice him to leave the Ligue 1 team.

According to a recent source, Real Madrid, the Spanish powerhouse, was also thinking about making a move for the France international in the future.

Clubs are still keeping an eye on the player’s circumstances, but it seems likely that he will stay with the French

Nice, led by Francesco Farioli, is performing well in Ligue 1, thus the club would be hesitant to split ways with Thuram halfway through the season.

Nice is presently four points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain in second place, having amassed 29 points from 14 league games this season.

Thuram has started 11 of his 12 games in the top division this season, making him a constant in Farioli’s starting lineup.

With Nice since leaving Monaco in the summer of 2019, the midfield player has made 150 appearances and provided eight goals and eleven assists.
