Potter has rejected the proposal made to him club’s hunt for a new leader after previously turning around its fortunes. Potter’s first stay was successful, and although it is unclear if he will return to the Amex Stadium, the club is considering his return.
Potter won praise for leading Brighton from a team that was always in danger of relegation to a Premier League team in the top half during his 40-month tenure.
Captain Lewis Dunk praised Potter for his “amazing job,” highlighting the manager’s contribution to the team’s improvement to a ninth-place finish in the 2021–2022 campaign.
Potter helped Brighton establish a reputation for playing a visually appealing and forward-thinking brand of football in addition to improving the team’s league standing. During this time, Brighton achieved some historic triumphs, like beating Manchester United at Old Trafford on the first weekend of the 2022–2023 season, which moved them up to fourth place in the standings after six games.
