The 2024 NBA All-Star weekend, which will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 18–19, is drawing near quickly. The NBA is attempting to recreate the classic watching experience by moving the All-Star Game back to the Western Conference vs. Eastern Conference format.

Although it is extremely difficult to force players to give it their all for a meaningless game, the league is making an effort to infuse new concepts into this unique weekend. The Rising Stars game, which pits the best rookies, sophomores, and G Leaguers against one another, is one of the weekend’s opening events.

The NBA has been hiring celebrities or former players to coach these young players in the Rising Stars game; Pau Gasol, a legend of the Los Angeles Lakers, was one of them last year. Gasol made the following social media announcement, seemingly indicating that he will be coaching again this year:

Even though the Rising Stars game is just recreational, it will be interesting to watch Gasol return to the sidelines to defend his title and possibly impart some important knowledge to the upcoming crop of youthful talent.

Even though the Rising Stars game is only for fun, it will be interesting to see Gasol back on the sidelines to defend his title and maybe impart some important knowledge to the upcoming crop of youthful talent.

Gasol is starting a new chapter of his life without basketball after retiring from competitive basketball. For the former Lakers big man, being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this past summer was a momentous occasion that would forever cement his legacy. Pau and his family had a happy and emotional moment, but before ending his statement, he gave everyone a message of inspiration and positivity.
