Eleven former Georgia Bulldogs are taking part in drills and workouts over the weekend as part of the 2024 NFL Combine. The 40-yard dash is one of the most popular drills, in which players run 40 yards in a straight line. Here are the outcomes of a recent NFL Combine drill performed by Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

Without being lead, few would have leapt to compare McConkey to rising sensation Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets, but it makes for an intriguing conversation. Weight and height are irrelevant, but the 40-yard dash is fascinating regardless of whether broad or vertical jumps are used.

Over the course of three seasons at Georgia, McConkey amassed 119 receptions for 1,687 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. But after a strong sophomore campaign (58 catches, 762 yards, and seven touchdowns), he only finished nine games with 30 receptions for 478 yards and two scores.

McConkey is a projected second-round selection ahead of the NFL Draft in April, but a few clubs late in the first round may give him a look. Indeed, according to Jeremiah, McConkey—who is praised for his “ultra-smooth” route running—would mesh well with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions who hold the final pick in the first round.
