Against the Falcons on Sunday, Bears quarterback Justin Fields wowed the Soldier Field fans in what may have been his final home game.

That same day, Chicago also won the first overall choice in the 2024 NFL draft, casting doubt on Fields’ future. While some think Chicago should build around Fields and trade the pick for a haul for a second straight year, others think the Bears should select Caleb Williams with the first choice.

“We want Fields” shouts burst out at Soldier Field during Sunday’s game, letting Bears supporters know exactly what they thought.
Bears supporters can relax knowing that Fields has heard them.
Following the game, Fields declared, “Chicago Bears fans, definitely No. 1 in the world.” Please know that you are all loved. Team Love is shared by all of you. I’ve placed a lot of focus on being in the now. Without a doubt, this game will be with me forever.

In the end, Ryan Poles, general manager, will make the crucial choice regarding Fields’ future and Chicago’s quarterback strategy.
One way to improve on last year’s windfall (which included DJ Moore, Darnell Wright (No. 10), and this year’s No. 1 pick) would be for Poles to trade the first pick for the second year in a row. However, Poles might also want to build around Williams or another rookie quarterback because they have a lot of faith in them.

When it comes to assessing quarterbacks, Poles will take his time, whether it’s Fields or any of the impending rookie draft picks.
In any case, Fields has the backing of his teammates and supporters. It will be interesting to watch if Poles feels the same during the upcoming draft process.
