Just In: Paul Lawrie offers two Tour cards 2024 to Tartan Pro Tour

Paul Lawrie has offered two Challenge Tour cards as a way of showing his happiness that the Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour is commemorating its fifth anniversary in 2024.

The 1999 Open champion started the circuit, which has grown stronger over time, to give professionals based in Scotland opportunity to play during the Covid pandemic.

Last year, Englishman Rhys Thompson won the Order of Merit and obtained an exemption for the 2024 season, making it an Official Feeder Tour to the Challenge Tour.

The Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour will now give two players the chance to take that same step in 2025 after discussions with Jamie Hodges, Head of the Challenge Tour.

“Within a brief period of time, we’ve made significant progress,” stated Lawrie, who oversees the circuit via his Five Star Sports Agency. “Watching the Farmfoods Tartan Pro Tour progress is exciting.

“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jamie Hodges and the entire DP World Tour team for granting us an additional Challenge Tour slot. Two people have now been granted a complete exemption, which is excellent news for the tour.
