The date for early signing is quickly approaching so that 2024 candidates can begin signing. The Wolverines seek to lock in players who haven’t committed yet in addition to starting to sign commits who have already been a part of the class.

It looks like Michigan may receive a fresh commitment in the ’24 cycle shortly.

Following their visit to Ann Arbor, the Wolverines are the overwhelming favorites to sign Lugard Edokpayi, a prospect from District Heights, Maryland’s Bishop McNamara.

Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider on 247Sports gave Michigan a Crystal Ball forecast. Zach Libby and EJ Holland also provided The Wolverines with predictions with The Wolverine (On3).

Edokpayi is a four-star recruit and the 305th-ranked prospect in the cycle, per the Composite rankings. He weighs 230 pounds and is an incredible 6-foot-6.

Edokpayi, who has one of the biggest wing spans in the 2024 class, is still developing as a physical specimen and might pose a serious threat to offensive linemen once he receives college coaching.

Though it is more likely that Michigan will be selected come early signing day, Florida State and Maryland have also been in the running for the edge rusher.

As of right now, Michigan has 26 commitments for the 2024 class. There are three dedicated Edge rushers for the Wolverines.
