Just In: Leicester City And Zenit Lossed Lucas Beraldo To PSG

Lucas Beraldo, a defender for São Paulo, finally joins PSG after switching from Brazilian to European football. The player, who is the most valuable member of the tricolor team, has also drawn interest from the French side.

Globo Esporte says that club executives are currently attempting to raise the sum the club will receive for the sale, despite the fact that it appears Beraldo is headed for Paris. They seek to raise their ownership in the player’s rights while concurrently hoping the French will provide more than €20 million (R$106 million).

Currently, São Paulo holds 60% of the player’s rights, while Beraldo holds the remaining 20%. Lastly, XV de Piracicaba, where the defender began, owns the remaining 20%.

In addition to PSG, the player was contacted by Leicester City and Zenit Saint Petersburg. Regarding the Russian side, there was an immediate refusal. São Paulo was not pleased with the €18 million (R$96 million) proposal.

The local league, which is on the edge of Europe and whose federation is still subject to sanctions due to the conflict in Ukraine, is insufficient for Beraldo, according to the player’s representation.

São Paulo was notified by Leicester that they will match Zenit’s offer, most likely coming up with the €20 million the Brazilian was hoping for. The English squad serves as a vital entry point for the Premier League, the most prestigious club competition in the world.

Currently topping the Championship, the second tier in England, are the Foxes. They have a great chance of making it back to the top division the following year. Beraldo, though, would rather play for PSG. That would therefore entail avoiding the signing phase with a trampoline club that propels him to a higher level.
